Looking for things to do in Cusco? Stop by Faces of Cusco for a fun chocolate making and ceramic painting workshop!
This fun-for-all-ages family workshop is the perfect way to acclimate or take a break from the outdoors while creating personalized (and scrumptious) souvenirs that you can take with you. We begin with the chocoteja, a stuffed chocolate treat made famous in the Ica region of Peru. You’ll don an apron and make your very own chocotejas using local Peruvian chocolate while learning more about the history and tradition of chocolate and chocotejas in Peru. Choose from a variety of tasty fillings, to personalize your chocotejas to suit your taste – popped quinoa, nuts, dulce de leche, peanut butter and more!
While your chocotejas set, you’ll head to the ceramic painting station. First, choose your favorite ceramic piece to paint – torritos de Pucara (little bulls which symbolize good luck in Peru), Tumis (the sacrificial dagger of the Incas) or little jars that are typical to the region. Then, choose your brushes, paint and add other decorative accents to create your masterpiece! Unleash your inner Picasso and express your creative side. We’ll wrap your custom-made souvenirs in bubble wrap and finish off the morning with some fresh fruit juice, premium tea, or even a glass of wine if you’re so inclined. A perfect way to spend the morning with family!
